Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor #72935
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, but you might also call me a self-esteem kick starter, banisher of self-doubt and a self-compassion enthusiast.
I am not your stereotypical therapist. I don't sit with a clipboard nodding my head, saying, " I see" every couple of minutes. Clients appreciate my straightforward approach, empathy, and humor. Therapy with me isn't stuffy or rigid; it is fluid and natural. An "F" bomb has been known to make its way into the session, and that's ok. I'm not here to tell you what to do; I'm here to help as a guide on your journey.
How does therapy with me work? First, we identify your current patterns that aren't working for you, such as perfectionism, people-pleasing, the cycle of toxic relationships, etc., then we dig deep and find the root of these problems. I'm a firm believer that events/people/experiences in our past have an impact on our present. Either in a big in your face way or a stealth mode didn't even notice it way. Together we dig up the root of the problem and fill it back in healthy patterns, self-compassion and self-care.
I know from personal experience and years of working with women that sometimes we can be a little (ok, very ) hard on our selves. It's easy for our self-esteem to be shaken resulting in self-doubt, harsh self criticism and feeling unworthy, but I also know that with a little support, courage, humor, and willingness we can put that behind us and move forward feeling empowered.
I believe all women deserve to feel connected, accepted, empowered and most importantly GOOD ENOUGH.
